Mobile Healthcare Delivery Platform POCOur development partner involved Azoft into collaboration in order to develop a new mobile solution for the Health Care industry. The goal of the project was to extend a line of Value Added Service offered by MVNO carrier and to develop a platform that would improve the accuracy in prescriptions schedules via mobile device for subscribers. Azoft developed a Healthcare Delivery Platform (HDP) which main functionality covered prescription reminder alerts, disease data management, a track health program, and some other. The ScopeTo develop a unique mobile HDP POC (Proof of Concept) aimed to improve the adherence to prescriptions via mobile device, and to provide some other services required. Application’s functionality presupposed the following algorithm to be performed:
The system was expected to be advantageous in comparison to the variety of its competitors, being able to provide such services as:
Moreover, the application should have been installed on the handset OTA, i.e over the air. Thus the task of the development team was to install a hardware infrastructure to support the OTA technology. The ChallengeThe most challenging point of this project was that the technologies and solutions used to develop the system were innovational and unfamiliar to the development teams involved. The successful result of the project depended on the client’s ability to offer the service across a variety of mobile networks and cellular phone models in order to make the service wide-spread and ubiquitous. If the service is wide-spread and fits the majority of the networks and cellular phone models, it could be offered to the large amount of customers already using similar VAS services. Moreover, the new service had to be compatible with the mobile phone data, including SMS, to keep the prices friendly for the customers. It is understood that the responsibility for development of the new system was on the development partner as well as on the Azoft team, working in a tandem. Developing a mobile solution corresponding to the tasks it was expected to cope with and which would appear to be unique in order to be relevant in the current market condition, was quite a complex question. In addition, there was one more issue: the implementation of the POC support across a variety of mobile networks and mobile phones offered. The SolutionThe concept worked out by the development team had a multi-tier architecture, including the OTA service and midlet supporting services. To perform its functions properly, a new mobile solution included a user Internet portal and also had a back end integration to vendor partners and carriers. The multi-phone and multi-carrier capability problem was solved by using MIDP v2.0 and launching the system in two networks that have different data connectivity policies. Finally, the solution built successfully showed the flexibility of its platform and ability to provide the healthcare patients with the services required. With the new platform customers may also use their devices to:
The HDP developed by the team of Azoft and its development partner showed the ability to perform properly its functions and successfully coped with the problem of relevance, which is an example of the Azoft team professionalism. The system is extremely useful for the healthcare providers since the data collected with the help of the platform may contribute to understanding of the correlation between the customer’s health and prescription drugs. But it is not the only purpose of using HDP. As an example, one may speak about other uses of this platform, such as analyzing the prescription intake compliance and patient’s prescription renewal.
