The client is a global Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) software company that serves the wireless industry. The client provides an operational support software solution that includes Customer Relationship Management, Provisioning, Activation, and Billing for telecommunications service providers. Our client’s product suite enables service providers to capture orders, manage sales prospects, provision & activate services, manage & track trouble tickets, and ultimately bill and collect revenue from retail subscribers.

Business Challenge

Our client experienced tremendous growth with their demands at a seven-year high. In order to sustain their growth, balance a large new business pipeline and support existing customers, our client was faced with a challenging decision: Do they hire and expand their internal IT staff or outsource to an external partner to meet its product development requirements. As such, our client needed highly-skilled resources that could
quickly and cost effectively step in to absorb workload and allow the client’s key personnel to focus on their most value adding activities. The client absolutely required an Application Development & Outsourcing partner that could bring talented and seasoned software development and project management professionals who could help them meet their demands, while controlling costs.

DonRiver was engaged to provide the client with over 40 highly-skilled IT personnel to whom they could offload product customizations and enhancements. Product Architecture & Design

  • Consultants on-site in North America worked closely with our client’s product development team to
    define a product roadmap and enhance the agility and integration capability of the product. This
    included implementing key SOA based architecture changes.
  • Software engineering teams from our Eastern European Delivery Centers performed vendor
    analysis, technical assessments and proof of concepts to support the SOA architecture decision
    process being carried out by the onshore team.

Software Development & Testing

  • DonRiver’s resources worked directly with our client to complete detailed designs and developed
    software modules that support service delivery, activation, and billing functions. Our Development
    Team created, tested and deployed valued application enhancements. In addition, DonRiver
    supported a variety of critical activities that included performing vendor selections, providing
    architectural guidance, prototyping solutions, and completing emergency defect fixes.

Defect Resolution

  • To assist our client with troubleshooting and fixing existing production defects, our on-site
    consultants worked closely with client delivery teams to triage and diagnose backlogs of production
    and testing defects, while our engineering teams in Europe performed defect fixes, testing and
    code migration.
