Our client was a Norwegian startup company, planning to launch a new product — a mobile application for discovering local events and venues.
The goal of the project was to develop a brand new mobile solution with social networking features. The solution is essentially a mobile guide that provides information about popular events and venues in several European cities.
Azoft developed both a client-side iPhone application
and a server-side
with support for a large volume of information and functionality. Information concerning thousands of events and venues is stored in a database, which is updates regularly.
The new mobile application doesn't just list all upcoming events, but also provides an insider's guide on what is happening in a given city. This includes lots of photos, maps, directions, reviews, and social media tools.
iOS, Java, MySQL, Ext-GWT (GXT), Hibernate, Jersey REST Framework
The client turned to Azoft with only a concept for the new app. We were asked to come up with the best approach for turning this concept into a fully-functioning solution. Azoft proposed several models for implementation and recommended which technologies would be the most appropriate to use.
In addition, the client was eager to launch the new product as soon as possible, so our developers had to complete the work in a very limited time period, with requirements that continued to evolve during the course of the project. For this reason, Azoft recommended agile software development method known as Scrum.
While working on this project, Azoft team gained valuable experience developing new mobile solutions from scratch in a very limited time frame. Our developers stayed flexible throughout the course of the project and kept our client's interests in mind. Our client is currently planning to expand services to more European countries.
