Service Provisioning System for Combellga ISP
The client
Combellga is a leading Russian telecom provider serving major Russian and foreign companies and organizations. (Acquired by Golden Telecom Inc.)
The scope
To provide architecture and implementation of Service Provisioning System, integrate it into provider's B/OSS.
The solution
Service Provisioning System is a web-based OSS component dedicated to set-up, configuration and improved delivery of Combellga’ services to subscribers. Provisioning System allows managing the following services:
- generating data for scratch cards issuing and further accepting scratch card payments
- managing tariffs, statistics, and reporting
- possibility for end users to access internet via modem using provider's channelsemail, hosting and web site management services with physical placement within provider resources
- domain names registration using provider DNS-servers
One of the main goals was to allow end users buy (via scratch cards) and manage internet services on their own without assistance of provider’s staff. The second main goal was the flexibility of system architecture, which should allow to quickly add new services via system administration site.Front-end comprised several interfaces and allowed subscribers to activate scratch cards, manage obtained services, and other operations. It was integrated with billing and accounting systems. Since the main goal of the portal was to provide subscribers with capability of managing services on their own, the major requirement was maximum usability and ease of navigation among services.
While working on this project, Azoft specialists closely co-operated with Combelga's IT and OSS engineering departments to gather requirements, master existent OSS architecture, properly design the new provisionsing component, and after implementation provide its proper deployment into Combelga's environment.
